Motorola Solutions says its adoption of Google Workspace and Gemini is accelerating collaboration, training and sales preparation across its 25,000-person global workforce.
Motorola Solutions chose Google Workspace largely for its collaborative capabilities, reflecting the needs of a company operating across languages, countries and cultures. The company said the platform supports work for about 25,000 employees, making shared tools and communication central to day-to-day operations.
When Google Workspace with Gemini became available internally, the company moved quickly to embrace it. Leaders described the impact as broad-based, with usage spreading across functions as employees found practical ways to apply AI in meetings, research and routine knowledge work.
One of the most significant changes came from Gemini’s notetaking capabilities. After collecting transcripts from meetings across the company, teams used NotebookLM to turn that material into structured reports that identified employees, locations and specific use cases, sharply reducing the effort required to organize and summarize internal knowledge.
A senior sales executive developed customized Gems for common seller workflows, aimed at quickly gathering the information needed before customer interactions. The approach highlights how employees are tailoring AI tools for specialized business tasks rather than relying only on general-purpose prompts.
NotebookLM was also used to prepare for sales calls by turning briefing materials into audio-style summaries that could be reviewed while traveling to appointments. The result was a faster way for staff to absorb key account details and practical recommendations before walking into meetings.
The company said formal training sessions and recorded materials remain important, but engagement improves when employees see relatable examples from colleagues. Story-driven demonstrations and peer use cases have become a key method for encouraging adoption and showing how AI can fit into daily work.
Dedicated Google Chat spaces focused on Gemini in Workspace have attracted hundreds of employees who share advice and practical experience. An internal Young Professionals Group also promoted a companywide day centered on learning AI, reinforcing grassroots interest alongside formal enablement efforts.
The company reported sharp spikes in Gemini metrics in the weeks following internal engagement campaigns. It cited strong increases in daily active users and overall usage, suggesting that structured learning efforts translated into measurable adoption.
Company leaders said employees are increasingly viewing AI skills as part of their professional development and future career growth. That has increased interest in advanced offerings such as Gemini Enterprise, seen internally as the next step for teams ready to expand beyond early use cases.
Motorola Solutions is positioning AI inside Google Workspace as a practical productivity layer rather than a standalone experiment. Its experience suggests adoption rises fastest when tools are tied to specific jobs, active peer communities and measurable everyday benefits.
